About container size and type codes
The container size and type code is part of ISO specification for freight containers. Not to be confused with generally accepted abbreviations, such as DC for dry container or HC for high cube container, the 4-character container size and type code is marked on the container and helps to determine technical properties of the container. The first two alphanumeric symbols determine physical dimensions of the container - length and width of the container. The last two symbols determine other technical properties of the container.
